CR is not a fad diet. It is meant to follow the findings of several researchers, including Dr. Roy Walford. People on CR (also known as CRONies) follow a reduced-calorie plan over several years hoping to improve their health, increase their lifespan or chances of longevity. Researchers have established in their preliminary findings on the NIH study of CR on monkeys that calorie restriction helps lessen the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and even diabetes. Results on the issue of longevity have yet to be ascertained.

This community does not entertain spammers or harassment. Nor is it a community meant for eating disorders or followers of fad diets, but all are welcome. As CR is meant to be followed by fully-grown adults, minors are also discouraged from practicing calorie restriction as it may stunt their growth.

You are advised to acclimatize yourself to the rudiments of eating according to CRON over a period of 1-2 years, during which you should not make drastic attempts to cut calories or lose weight. This shortens life rather than prolonging it. A good starting point is Beyond the 120 Year Diet by Roy Walford, and the CR Way by Paul McGlothin and Meredith Averill.
